IELTS- Writing Module

                                            ... a 60 minute test of your ability to write in English.

There are two tasks in the writing test. Task2 is worth more marks than Task1.It is your job to manage timing the test yourself.

Academic Module

Task 1 (20 minutes) - 150 words

You are given a 'Visual Representation' of some information. This could be given in a number of formats:

  • Graph
  • PieChart
  • Diagram
  • illustration
  • Table

    • You are asked to write some form of report using the information given.

    Task 2 (40 minutes) - 250 words
      You have to write an essay of 250 words that expresses your opinion on a issue, or shows how to solve a problem, or requires you to speculate about future trends.

    General Training Module

    Task 1 (20 minutes)
       You have to write a 150 word letter according to the instructions given to you..

    Task 2 (40 minutes)
       You have to write an essay of 250 words in response to a question or  argument  on a general topic.
      
    ON THE EXAM DAY
     Establish your ability to answer perform a task correctly using facts and figures.
    Establish your ability to answer questions where facts and figures are not given and where your opinions, thoughts, and views need to be expressed.
